From garage project to global movement
In 2016, I started building electric hydrofoils in my garage and sharing everything on YouTube. No patents, no paywalls โ just open designs and honest build logs.
That decision kicked off a worldwide DIY eFoil movement. Builders from 50+ countries started modifying, improving, and sharing their own designs. FOIL.zone became the hub.
The eFoil itself was invented in 2008 by Jakob Kuttenkeuler at KTH Stockholm โ the first person to combine a foiling surfboard with electric propulsion. My contribution was making it accessible to everyone.
Today, the mission continues: build tools that help people build things. Open source. Free forever.
